Understanding ADHD in Adults (Including Undiagnosed ADHD)
ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects how people focus, control impulses, and manage energy levels. It typically begins in childhood but can persist into adolescence and adulthood.
Many adults live with undiagnosed ADHD for years; labeling themselves as “lazy,” “unmotivated,” or “bad at life,” when the real issue is attention regulation and executive function. Adult ADHD can look like chronic overwhelm, procrastination, time blindness, emotional reactivity, unfinished projects, messy routines, job stress, and relationship strain.
Whether you relate to adult onset ADHD where symptoms becoming obvious later, or you’ve always felt different, understanding ADHD in adults is the first step toward relief and a plan that actually fits your brain. I have severe ADHD so I know this treatment works!

Adult ADHD Assessment and Diagnosis (Get Clear Answers)
A common search term is "Adult ADHD diagnosis near me". If you found me here you must be looking for clarity, not a guess. I’m licensed in Ohio to assess, diagnose, and treat adult ADHD, which means we can move from “I think I have ADHD” to a structured evaluation and a clear outcome.
We’ll review symptoms, history, functioning across settings (work, home, relationships), and patterns that point to ADHD versus burnout, anxiety, depression, or sleep issues, so your next steps are based on evidence, not internet checklists.
My Role in Adult ADHD Treatment (Tools, Structure, and Real Change)
My role is to help you turn insight into a workable system: we identify your ADHD patterns, build strategies for how to focus with ADHD, reduce procrastination, strengthen time management, and create routines that don’t collapse the moment life gets stressful.
Treatment is practical and collaborative; less “try harder,” more “here’s the structure that makes follow-through possible.” You’ll leave sessions with tools you can use immediately for planning, motivation, emotional regulation, and communication, so your days feel more manageable and your goals feel reachable.
I know how hard it is and I know you do the best you can. Let me help you be better!

Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I might have ADHD as an adult?
If you’ve had long-term patterns of distractibility, overwhelm, time management struggles, procrastination, and inconsistent follow-through - especially across work and home - an assessment can help confirm whether ADHD is the root issue.
Here is what it's been like for me: I was born in 1964 and when I look back at my life, I don't remember a time where I wasn't hyperactive, inattentive towards important things, hyperfocused on perfection, impulsive to my detriment, and struggling to understand myself and my emotions. The latter morphed into severe anxiety with some mild to moderate depression thrown in while at the same time overfunctioning.
Can a therapist diagnose ADHD?
If a therapist has a state license to assess, diagnose, and treat people seeking help for their symptoms, then yes.
I am licensed in Ohio to assess, diagnose, and treat adult ADHD and provide you, the patient, documentation towards the outcome. I work with prescribers across the state to help people who are interested in medicine management plus emotional skill building.
What’s included in an adult ADHD assessment?
A structured evaluation of symptoms, history, functioning, and contributing factors (sleep, stress, mood, anxiety, trauma patterns) to ensure the diagnosis fits and your plan is targeted.
Do you provide a report for medication?
I'm not the prescriber; yes, if appropriate, I provide a full written report you can take to a prescriber to discuss medication options.
Can treatment help even if I don’t want medication?
Absolutely. Many adults improve significantly with therapy-based strategies, skill-building, routines that stick, and executive function supports—even without medication.
